VIZAR WINERIES DEHESA PEÑALBA
Vizar Wineries Dehesa Peñalba is located on a farm on the banks of the River Duero in Villabañez (Valladolid), 22 kilometers away from Valladolid, Castille and Leon. It has 90 hectares of land where the winery and the entire vineyard are located. The vineyards of the estate have witnessed various civilizations that populated Spain. The farm was historically part of the now disappeared town of Peñalba. The town arose during the Reconquest on the south bank of the River Duero, the opposite side to the Christian lands. The farm has come to belong to the Dukes of Alba, subsequently it passed through various hands over the centuries, nowadays it belongs to the Zarzuela family. The family, betting for the area and its rural surroundings, and believing in the possibilities of the estate and vineyards, brings quality wines to the wine market. The winery works under Organic / Ecological Agriculture. They make among others the red wine Vizar Organic Tempranillo, an ecological wine, aged during 4 months over lees on stainless steel deposits, made with Tempranillo grape, under the Protected Geographic Indication (PGI) Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León.
