CAN VIDALET WINERIES
CAN VIDALET WINERIES
Owned by a German businessman from Hamburg, Can Vidalet Wineries were established in 1996 with the planting of the first vineyard and the aim to revive the historical heritage of wine growing on the island of Mallorca. Our wines rest and evolve in a stone cellar underground to take advantage of the natural freshness that the environment provides. Located at the foothills of the Sierra de Tramuntana, in Pollença, lies the vineyard and small winery in Majorca, in the Balearic Islands, where they produce wines and spirits in the traditional way. The philosophy is based on respecting the land and its cultivation, creating wines with soul that express what the earth has given. Located in a unique spot of limestone soil, fossils and clay, the 10 hectare vineyard in Mallorca consists of 10 small cultivated plots of indigenous and international varieties, without using synthetic products, like the whites autochtonous grapes Moll or Premsal Blanc and Giró Ros, Moscatel from Alejandría, and the internationals Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The red varieties are the autochtonous Callet and Gorgollassa, and the internationals Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, they make a manual and a selected harvest. Some of these plots are separated by typical Majorcan dry stone walls and all of them are located at the Can Vidalet Estate. The wines are made under the Majorca Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) - Vino de la Tierra de Mallorca - Vi de la Terra de Mallorca. The Can Vidalet makes two ranges of white, red and sweet wines: Can Vidalet range: Blanc de Blancs, Blanc de Negres, Ses Pedres, Ses Pedres Edición Especial, Só del Xiprer and Terra Fusca, and special microvinifications with the Cecili de Metelo range: Barros de Cecili, Port de Cecili, among others.
